The China Shengsi International Kabrathon Open 2020 kicked off in Shengsi, a county in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province, on Oct 10, local media reported.
The kabrathon includes three different sporting events – kayaking, biking, and cross-country racing.
The event attracted more than 500 participants from home and abroad this year, who participated in an eight-kilometer kayaking race, 45-km mountain cycling race, and 10-km cross-country race over the course of five hours.
After a fierce competition, Ba Temeng of China won the men's category with a time of 2 hours 24 minutes 20 seconds, while Jiang Dongmei of China took first in the women's category with a time of 2 hours 43 minutes 43 seconds.
The top three spots in the company kabrathon went to Zhejiang Xinfan Club, Shanghai Xixi Maternal and Childcare Service Co Ltd, and the Deshen Heping Club.
Maxim, a kayaker from Russia who has participated in the competition twice, said that Shengsi is a beautiful county and that the conditions for the competition were great. He added that he would participate in the competition again next year.
The competition was sponsored by the Zhejiang Provincial Sports Bureau and organized by the Zhoushan municipal bureau of culture, broadcasting, television, tourism, and sports and the Shengsi government.
