A tourism festival featuring a night run, concerts, parties and sports games is set to be staged in five fishing villages in Wulong township, Shengsi county, Zhoushan from Aug 18 to 25. 

The festival, now in its second year, comes as part of recent efforts by local authorities to attract visitors and fuel local tourism growth.

A special highlight will be the night run scheduled to be held on Aug 21. Runners will dress in fluorescent clothing and wave glowing sticks throughout the 4.6-kilometer route.

A music festival featuring several famous domestic singers and bands will be staged on the following day. Among them is Xu Fei,a female pop singer and songwriter. In 2006, she came in sixth place in the national final of Super Girl, an entertainment talent show aired on Hunan satellite TV.

Meanwhile, numerous markets will also be erected where visitors can purchase cultural and creative products and try local snacks. Parties focusing on crayfish, beer and romantic relationships will also be held during the festival. 

This year, sporting events on the beach will be added so as to improve the interaction among tourists.
