Located at Eastern China, in the Zhejiang province, lies one of the most beautiful island groups in China. As these islands are combined, they are known as Zhoushan. This is where I am staying right now. As a foreigner living and studying in china, Zhoushan is my home away from home. In other words, it is my second home. Precisely, I am currently studying at Zhejiang Ocean University as an undergraduate student. Zhoushan, according to my own perspective, has countless positive things to describe itself. This writing will be focused on my life experiences in Zhoushan and so forth.

Zhoushan is a beautiful city and island. It contains a lot of tourist attraction sites and natural beauty environment. I have seen and witnessed a lot of foreign people with different ethnicities all over the place. The school where I'm currently studying right now, consists of foreign students from Russia, Africa, Pakistan, Cambodia, Korea, Micronesia and more. It is a beneficial opportunity to meet different kinds of people and interact with different cultures.  Our school is situated on one of Zhoushan's small islands called Zhangzhi, 7.3 kilometers southeast of Dinghai city, 350 meters away from the shore of Zhoushan Island. Living on this island is amazing and peaceful in comparison to living in the big busy cities. Almost anything that you'll find interesting in the city life can be found within the Zhoushan region. The biggest difference I discovered is that Zhoushan has beautiful mountains for sightseeing and hiking. It even consists of amazing parks and places for hanging out designed not just for Chinese people but foreigners. Any foreigner can feel free to visit and enjoy the beautiful sites which Zhoushan offers. Mount Putuo is one of the most attraction sites for foreigners and there are a lot more.

Zhoushan is not only a beautiful city/island but is also filled with love and caring people. People are friendly not only to foreigners but the environment itself. Clean environment is a phenomenon all over Zhoushan. For example, it is impossible to come across trashes or rubbish anywhere on the ground. Zhoushan's clean environment can serve as a better example not only within China but other countries around the world. People residing on Zhoushan maintain the beauty of the environment by constantly cleaning it every day. Older people are usually the ones I've seen working hard by cleaning this environment. Living in Zhoushan is a great opportunity for me to learn Chinese language and culture. I am staying in Zhoushan for almost 2 years already and I made quite a few Chinese friends. Making friends with Chinese people here in Zhoushan is a dream for me. I believe it will benefit me in my studies and is a great advantage to my life here in China for general.
