While studying at Zhejiang Ocean University and staying in Zhoushan, the most important thing to me was to learn Chinese language so that I can communicate with people. I start learning Chinese language at our school. Classes were good to learn the basics of language like grammar, listening, reading but to improve spoken language I used to practice with my classmate and tried to talk to everyone everywhere. At the beginning it was very difficult for me to learn a new language but Chinese language is so unique and pure that it attracted me and I get interested in learning. Now I can communicate with my Chinese friends. It will not be wrong if I say that in learning Chinese language there is great contribution from my teachers, friends and even of people of Zhoushan. Chinese people are very warmhearted. They have great respect for the foreigners. I am really impressed by the hospitality of the local people of Zhoushan. Now I am used to the life in China and I am very thankful to those Chinese friends that always helped me whenever I was in need. I have made many Chinese good friends and sometime we go to play and have fun together. Zhejiang Ocean University is one of the best universities, and is often arranging healthy activities such as hiking, marathon, and sports, for us. During these activities we have more opportunities to meet new people and make good friends.

China has many delicious foods but each place has their own taste, specialty and popularity. Zhoushan as an island has many kinds of seafood and famous places for seafood. Among seafood I like to eat fish, shrimps and crabs. Shenjiamen harbor is the main hub for seafood and also has a yearly festival of seafood. During the festival many foreigners and Chinese from other cities come here and enjoy the unique taste of Zhoushan. We also sometimes go to that food street and enjoy the delicious recipes.
