The great friends I have met aka Wakandians Crew
It was only 2 year ago when I departed my country (Guyana- South America) to pursue my study at Zhejiang University Ocean College, China. As I lay eyes upon the great horizon of the lands of China, I could see the pearl of China reflecting from the iris of my eyes- the tall shimmering sky scrapers, gleaming around the blue skyline, the wind sizzling down through the trees, the sounds of nature's sweeping through my soul and the waves of the ocean cresting through my ears. One could not imagine being in a mesmerized island called Zhoushan. Zhoushan is situated in Zhejiang province and is known for its stunning natural beauty. It is a place to find the immaculate traditional Chinese culture while enjoying the exotic overwhelming Chinese buildings.
My life in Zhoushan initially began, when I transcended into a different time zone (12 hours ahead). I spend my first few days at my university lonely and gloomily. My nights became my days and days became my night. I haven't seen any international students around and I felt as if I was literally stranded on a secluded island all by myself. I remembered, while I was coming to Zhoushan from Hangzhou. I didn't know about Wechat nor Alipay and, I had only 100 RMB and my overseas bank card. I hopped into a taxi and showed him the direction Mr. Tang Li had given me which cost about 20 yuan. I took the direction and showed it to another Chinese and they took me to the bus center, where I had to purchase a ticket that cost 98 yuan. Oh boy! Forgetting the foreign exchange currency between my country and China, I didn't know what to do after some time passed, later a handsome young Chinese fella approached me and asked "where are you going?" I showed him my direction and explained to him I am short of 13 yuan to get to my area. He said "no worries, I am heading to the same area!" Being such a humble humanitarian, this god sent Chinese fella was my angel for the day. He contacted my university and my professor and the lonely feeling went away. As my days and months went by, my life in Zhoushan became fulfilling. My mandarin became better and life became easier. I could recall my first time coming to China, and all I knew was Ni hao "hello". Now I can make full sentence such as "Nǐ hǎo, wǒ de míngzì shì mǎlìyà nǐ de míngzì shì shénme?"
