After several years' working in Shanghai, I made the decision to return to my hometown. I was happy to know later that Zhoushan has embraced the new opportunities of development- Zhoushan was titled as a state-level New Zone for development. New policies were released to help my hometown to boost its development. Moreover, Zhoushan has made full use of its geographical advantages to promote the tourism industry.
The dramatic changes have taken place in Zhoushan. But I am happy to see everything is changing back home. I'd never expect that my hometown would change in such a short amount of time: More and more modern buildings have stood up alongside the streets; People living here have more convenience for communication than before. Fast public transportation enables us to reach almost everywhere. The quality of life is becoming better- As the night falls, groups of mid-aged ladies dance casually on public squares in the evening. People not only have free time, but also become richer. Traveling abroad becomes fashionable and easier.
Zhoushan is no more only a fishing village in people's eyes. That's because Zhoushan has already become famous, not just for its seafood, but also for being a wonderful tourist destination. This year, I have witnessed millions of tourists driving their cars flood into to my hometown.
Maybe that's what growing up is like: you don't expect changes to happen. You have to learn to roll with them and use those changes in a positive light. In a way, I have changed too. I am not the young boy I once was. I have become more mature and knowledgeable.
Perhaps the hometown I grew up in is changing for the better, just like me. Now I have started my own business in Zhoushan, in which way I hope to grow up with my hometown and witness its development. I’ll always remember what my hometown is and what it was like before I left here. I'll always have faith in Zhoushan and expect its new changes.
