A thousand words and three photos are too less to tell a magical story about me and the beautiful city of Zhoushan, but I will try. First, let me make a little intro and tell you what preceded our meeting with Zhoushan.

First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Kovaleva Marina. I came to China with my husband Slava from Russia, from the beautiful city St. Petersburg. Slava was invited to teach Russian language for Zhejiang International Study University in Hangzhou. We are travelling people, we like to discover new places and meet new friends, and we like to research new cultures and study new languages. We couldn’t imagine before that sometimes we will have the chance to know from inside the most ancient culture on the earth and visit one of the most interesting and beauty country of our planet, that is why when we get such invitation we accepted it immediately without long thoughtfulness. China was our old dream. I had to give up my work in the school to follow my husband and help our dream become true. 

We lived in Hangzhou about two years. It was the first city we have visited in China. Second city was Shanghai where we celebrated our 25-year wedding anniversary. More over we had been in several other beautiful cities and villages mostly in Zhejiang Province.

Now let me tell you my Zhoushan story.

My story about Zhoushan is a love story at first sight. I first heard about Zhoushan at the Xixi Wetland Museum in Hangzhou, when our friend pointed the Zhoushan islands on the museum's showroom map and said it was a great place near Hangzhou for a seaside holiday.
