In the first half of this year, Wenzhou Port achieved a container throughput of 703,000 twenty-feet equivalent units, an 11-percent year-on-year increase.

This growth was driven by both foreign and domestic trade containers. Foreign trade container throughput on near-sea routes rose by 7 percent, while domestic trade container throughput reached 516,000 TEUs, up by 20.7 percent.

Wenzhou Port has been developing its sea-rail intermodal and near-sea route business channel. The frequency of near-sea route services increased from six to nine weekly journeys, and the Yongkang sea-rail channel has been operating steadily. New routes to Jinhua and Lishui have been launched, further expanding the reach of near-sea routes.

Additionally, Wenzhou is promoting the stable operation of three feeder routes: Wenzhou-Zhapu, Wenzhou-Taizhou, and Wenzhou-North Fujian.

Wenzhou Port saw a significant increase in sea-rail intermodal container volumes, with 4,432 TEUs handled in the first half of the year, a 54.32-percent surge. Since its launch in July 2021, the Jinhua-Wenzhou container sea-rail intermodal service has expanded from one to five routes. This development has attracted inland export goods to Wenzhou and aims to attract transit goods exported from Southeast Asia to Central Asia in Wenzhou Port.
