With five months until Christmas, gift companies in Rui'an, Wenzhou, are already experiencing a peak in shipments.
On July 3, two leading companies in Linchuan town reported that the peak season for Christmas items began in June. Concerns over shipping delays have prompted many foreign buyers to place orders early.
Linchuan town is renowned as one of China's top 10 gift production hubs, known as the "China's craft gift production base".
Wenzhou Wanjiaxiang Crafts Co Ltd, a leading enterprise in Rui'an, is currently bustling with activity. On July 3, nearly 30 workers were busy on the production line, completing a set of Halloween window stickers in just one minute. In the packaging workshop, over 20 workers were sealing and bagging the products. Each worker can package between 1,000 and 2,000 items per day.
Wanjiaxiang Crafts primarily produces window stickers and children's educational toys, with over 1,000 varieties, including Christmas and Halloween-themed items. Ninety percent of these products are exported to the United States, with annual sales exceeding 20 million yuan ($2.74 million). The company saw a surge in orders in April and May, leading to a peak shipping period in June and July, averaging one container per day.
Rui'an Binfeng Crafts Co Ltd is also working overtime to produce Christmas-related items. This year, they have received 30 million yuan in orders.
