The Shenzhen-Zhongshan cross-sea passage began trial operations on June 30. This impressive project features a smart communication power distribution solution from Wenzhou-based Zhejiang Tengen Electric Co Ltd, ensuring full 5G signal coverage and supporting smart transportation.

The Shenzhen-Zhongshan passage, spanning 24 kilometers, includes bridges, islands, tunnels, and underwater interchanges. It features the world's largest offshore steel box girder suspension bridge with a main span of 1,666 meters and the first dual eight-lane steel shell concrete immersed tube tunnel, which is 6.8 kilometers long.

Achieving full 5G signal coverage for this project, especially across the wide Lingding Sea and the nearly 40-meter-deep tunnel, was challenging.

Tengen collaborated with telecom operators like China Tower, China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom to provide a smart communication power distribution solution. This ensures full signal coverage within the tunnel, allowing drivers to access 5G internet even underwater.

Additionally, communication facilities were installed on the bridge and artificial islands, with 73 base stations and distributed coverage systems in the main buildings.

Tengen, a leading supplier in the communication industry and data centers, has established deep cooperation with major telecom companies. Their smart communication solutions have supported important national projects, including Chengdu Tianfu International Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport, as well as civilian projects like Xi'an Metro and Hangzhou Metro.
