Xia Xiaoqin, a Wenzhou returnee from France, was born in Xiajia village, Lucheng district, Wenzhou, and went to France with her father at the age of 15.
During her more than 30 years in France, she was always aware of the beautiful landscapes of her hometown, Xiajia village. In her opinion, with picturesque scenery and fresh air, it is a paradise and great place to retire. In today's video, we tell the life story of Xia.
After returning to China in 2018, Xia combined the topographical advantages of Xiajia village with modern architectural styles and folklore culture in southern Zhejiang to create a rural homestay called "Xia Mu Huang Li". She was in charge of location selection, construction, soft furnishings, and operations of the B&B Hotel. For her, it is emblematic of her strong emotions for Xiajia village.
Xia said that she intends to take the B&B Hotel as a model to further renovate more vacant houses in Xiajia village in an effort to attract more people to come and experience the village’s slow rural lifestyle. She wants to do her part in driving the economic development of her hometown and making it a beautiful village known to everyone.
