A ski trip in Wenzhou use to be nothing more than a distant fantasy for the coastal city, with a mild climate year-round and little-to-no snow. However, with the opening of Qite Snow Park in Lucheng district, local residents are able to get a taste of "real winter" and immerse themselves in a world of white.
Ergashev Akmal, a Tajikistani currently studying for a doctoral degree at Wenzhou Medical University, has been living in the city for years and became interested in the snow park. He paid a visit and enjoyed himself.
"I have a great time here. The sport is unforgettable. I really can't tear myself away from it," Akmal said, "However, what surprises me the most is that sports have become an indispensable part of local people's lives. I believe that Wenzhou will continue to grow in this regard."
