Moreover, the Wencheng plant is Wahaha's fourth investment project in the 26 mountainous counties of Zhejiang province, as well as the 76th of its kind built by the beverage giant in less-developed regions across China.

The Wencheng branch is expected to become a new example of coordinated progress between private enterprises and mountainous regions.

Liu Risheng, 27, a native of Shanxi town, is among some 200 new workers at the Wencheng plant.

"I used to be a migrant worker, but Wahaha's new plant in Wencheng inspired me to return to my hometown," Liu said. "I've dreamt of drinking Wahaha since I was a child, and now I will be proud to say that I produce Wahaha beverages."
