With most areas of China experiencing unprecedented summer heat this year, Alisher, a Tajik who currently lives and works in the coastal city of Wenzhou in East China's Zhejiang province, is quite curious about how locals spend the blistering summer days.
In this episode, Alisher will wander the streets and alleyways of Lucheng district, the downtown area of Wenzhou, which has preserved city's landscapes of the past, and experience authentic local ways to survive the heat.
Alisher said the distinctive almond jelly in Wenzhou, a dessert which tastes like a lollipop peddled by vendors in his hometown, recalls memories of childhood. Jiushan Ice Cream, a humble stall which has been standing by Jiushan Lake for 45 years, also offers him a glimpse into the childhood of a Wenzhou native.
