Short videos submitted by the city of Wenzhou in East China's Zhejiang province won one grand prize, one first prize and five third prizes in the 2021 Tell China's Stories Contest.

The contest was sponsored by the Information Office of the State Council and hosted by the China International Communications Group.

During the four-month solicitation period which started last July, nearly 300 short videos produced by a total of 55 organizations and universities in 12 districts, counties and county-level cities administered by Wenzhou were collected.

The videos revolved around foreigners working and living in Wenzhou and interpreted the city's history and development from their perspectives.

An Italian sinologist's love for Rui'an, a video recounting Italian sinologist Bonino Gabriella's two-year cultural exploration trip in Rui'an, won the grand prize.

During the 630-day trip, Gabriella visited over 60 inheritors of local intangible cultural heritage items and wrote Rui'an Intangible Cultural Heritage, a book featuring over 100,000 words in Italian.
