The Wenzhou Sports Center Stadium will host the men's and women's football group matches for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022.
As the center was built in Lucheng district in downtown Wenzhou 25 years ago, the renovations on the venue ahead of the Games were mainly focused on introducing cutting-edge technologies and designs ranging from an illumination system to natural pitches.
To ensure the football pitch is of the highest quality, 18 sensors have been installed around the pitch to collect data on temperature, humidity, light intensity, sunshine duration, and solar radiation. Intelligent technologies have also been employed in pitch maintenance.
Adjustable lamps, which have been embedded with advanced anti-dazzle and precise light-control technology, have also been installed around the venue to help with high-definition broadcast and provide a more comfortable environment for football players and spectators.
The two-year renovation of the stadium cost 64.81 million yuan ($10.18 million).
