Hosany Sumayyah, a Mauritian surgeon, and her fiancé Pakistani orthopedist Abdul Zahir Hamad, have over the past two years served as volunteers in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.
As the couple were not able to travel home to Mauritius for their wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospitable She ethnic minority people from the mountainous Cangnan county held a distinctive minority-style wedding for them last December.
The wedding, which was livestreamed and uploaded online, received the blessings of over 5 million viewers from across the world.
