Wenzhou's efforts to create a vibrant environment for professionals paid off recently with the city having attracted 205,000 college graduates and skilled workers this year, local media outlets reported.

With the number of college graduates newly settled in Wenzhou increasing by 10,000 this year to 114,400, the city's targeted policies and generous financial support have proved that it is an attractive city to fresh graduates.

In addition to hosting 651 job fairs in various cities across the country and offering 818,000 jobs from January to September, Wenzhou has also offered financial support totaling 43.81 million yuan ($6.87 million) in college graduates' employment, transportation, as well as accommodation subsidies.

Wenzhou also focused on the cultivation of professionals in new and emerging industries, especially those working in the burgeoning digital economy industry. To achieve this goal, the city has opened over 200 customized trainings since last June, covering areas like short video production, new media operations, as well as smart logistics operations.

Attracting high-end professionals has been another highlight of Wenzhou's talent work as the city has brought in 484 PhD graduates and 3,305 postgraduates this year as of Oct 15, surpassing its annual target.
