Odense, the capital city of the island of Funen in Denmark, occupies 304 square kilometers and had a population of 179,601 in 2018. It is the third largest city in Denmark and the second largest in industry, trade and port activities.

Odense is prosperous in shipbuilding, machine manufacturing and food processing. It is also an important producing area of metals and building materials.

The city enjoys convenient transport and can be reached by airplane, ferry and train. The Port of Odense is one of the largest ports in Denmark, with annual throughput of over 2 million tons. The 8-kilometer-long canal can provide services for large modern vessels.

Odense has an exquisite environment, with an advanced and complete water supply system, and no water pollution.

Being the oldest city in Denmark, Odense is also a historic cultural city. It is the hometown of Hans Christian Andersen, the famous author of fairy tales.

Nishinomiya, Japan

Nishinomiya is a city in Hyogo prefecture, Japan, and lies between the two large cities of Osaka and Kobe. Occupying 99.87 square kilometers, the city had a population of about 488,000 in 2016. The sake produced in Nishinomiya enjoys a high reputation in Japan. Nishinomiya is also famous for its unique brewing industry. In addition, the city's fiber, steel, machinery manufacturing and chemical industries are prosperous.
