Shaoxing holds national electronic design competition
Shaoxing in East China's Zhejiang province hosted the online final of the 16th China Postgraduate Electronic Design Competition on Aug 13.
Sponsored by Tsinghua University and the Chinese Institute of Electronics in 1996, the competition has been held for 16 consecutive years.
This year's event started in March and was held in eight major division areas across the country. It received 5,120 entries by more than 20,000 participants from 254 universities and institutes in China.
Following the preliminary contest, 429 teams made it to the final, which was held online to avoid the risk of COVID-19 infection.
This is the first time the Shaoxing government has hosted the China Postgraduate Electronic Design Competition. In recent years, Shaoxing has made efforts to become a national innovation hub for integrated circuits and built several industrial parks and laboratories for chips.
