33 Zhejiang athletes to compete at Tokyo Olympic Games
A total of 33 athletes from East China's Zhejiang will take part in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan from July 23 to Aug 8.
The athletes include 15 male and 18 female players, with an average age of 26. Twenty-four of them are new to the Olympic Games, while some are veterans, such as 2016 Rio Olympics weightlifting gold medalist Shi Zhiyong and men's backstroke world champion Xu Jiayu.
Athletes from Zhejiang, part of the Chinese delegation, will compete in 12 different sports, including swimming, badminton, kayaking, gymnastics, and beach volleyball.
According to the Sports Bureau of Zhejiang Province, Zhejiang athletes are now in the process of preparing for the upcoming Games.
