In recent years, Qingtian county in Lishui, Zhejiang province has embraced technological innovation to drive the transformation and upgrades of its specialty agricultural industries, embarking on a path of high-quality modern agricultural development.

Waxberry farming plays an important role in Qingtian's specialty agricultural industries. In recent years, the county has developed smarter waxberry farming by adopting technologies of greenhouse cultivation and intelligent temperature control.

In Baipu village, farmers have introduced dual-film greenhouse technology to extend the waxberry sales season. Additionally, intelligent temperature control and integrated water-fertilizer systems are now widely implemented in waxberry greenhouses across the county, reducing labor costs and significantly improving fruit quality.

Currently, the county's waxberry greenhouses cover 203 hectares, with the total output expected to surpass 1 billion yuan ($138 million) by 2025.

In Shuangxi village, Fushan township, a hydroponic farming base features vegetables growing in vertical mist cultivation devices. This soilless cultivation method uses precise nutrient misting for 90 percent less water while increasing yields by a factor of five.

The total area of Fushan's hydroponic farming spans over 6.67 hectares with an investment exceeding 10 million yuan. Its vertical column planting model maximizes spatial utilization, effectively addressing issues of limited arable land and low soil fertility in mountainous regions.
