Lishui welcomes Chinese New Year with great festivities

As Spring Festival approaches, Lishui located in East China's Zhejiang province is just bursting with festive activities, inviting everyone to join in the joyful and hopeful celebrations of the Year of the Snake.

During Spring Festival, the Lishui Cultural Center – in collaboration with other cultural centers and intangible cultural heritage protection centers across counties – has prepared a wealth of cultural activities. These include art exhibitions, cultural performances, folk music concerts, opera performances, and cultural lectures.

In light of Spring Festival's recent inclusion on UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage list, Liandu district in Lishui will host a raft of activities such as village Spring Festival galas, opera performances, and folk fairs.

In Longquan, a county-level city in Lishui, over 100 cultural and tourism activities will take place, including intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, folk displays, Spring Festival goods fairs, village Spring Festival galas, and cultural exhibitions.

For its part, Qingtian county will launch a Spring Festival shopping festival featuring traditional festivities, fashion experiences, and shopping carnivals – blending traditional customs with modern trends.

Yunhe county will bring opera performances to rural areas with a touring show that includes Wuju opera, Chinese folk music, galas, concerts, and stage plays, filling the air with festive tunes.

In particular, visitors can head to Jingning She autonomous county to experience the unique She ethnic culture. They can dress in traditional She attire and immerse themselves in the rich Spring Festival atmosphere and distinctive cultural heritage.
