Lishui takes steps to become more kid-friendly
The Huangchu village in Anxi She ethnic township, Yunhe county, Lishui, known as the city's first "Children's Literature Village", hosted a themed fairy-tale drama event, attracting over 40 enthusiastic children, according to local media on Dec 17.
Located in Southwest Zhejiang, Lishui is using its unique natural and cultural advantages to foster a more kid-friendly environment that respects children's rights and cherishes their development.
The city has promoted ecological study tours, organizing visits for children to the Ancient Weir-Home of Painting (Guyan Huaxiang) scenic area to immerse in Oujiang River culture, and to the Baishanzu National Nature Reserve to learn about rare flora and fauna.
At a nature education center in Bihu town, Liandu district, children can plant rice, observe insects, and experience the joys of farming firsthand.
Lishui has also integrated its rich cultural heritage into the children's development. Elements of She ethnic culture and Longquan celadon culture are woven into daily life, allowing children to learn traditional culture and preserve the city's heritage.
In Jingning She autonomous county, children can learn She ethnic songs and dances, experience traditional crafts, and appreciate the unique charm of She culture.
Moreover, the city has encouraged the creation of child-themed artistic works, such as children's plays and picture books, to reflect children's perspectives and voices through art, drawing greater attention to their growing up and well-being.
