Lishui GDP grows 6.9% in H1
Lishui, Zhejiang province, achieved a GDP of 96.35 billion yuan ($13.28 billion) in the first half of 2024, marking a 6.9 percent year-on-year growth in real terms. This growth outpaced both the national and provincial averages, positioning Lishui second in Zhejiang.
The industrial sector emerged as a stabilizing force for the economy, with the cumulative growth rates of industries above designated size consistently exceeding 9 percent this year. In the first half, the added value of industries above designated size surged by 9.6 percent, surpassing the provincial average by 1.6 percentage points and ranking fourth in the province.
Enterprises representing new quality productive forces have become pivotal in supporting industrial growth. Core industry manufacturing of digital economy, equipment manufacturing, strategic emerging industries, and high-tech industries of Lishui witnessed impressive growth rates of 24.5 percent, 17.5 percent, 13.5 percent, and 7.5 percent, respectively.
The service industry also contributed to economic growth in Lishui, increasing 6.3 percent year-on-year in added value. Sectors such as wholesale and retail industry, transportation, storage, and postal services, and accommodation and catering all experienced substantial growth rates.
Lishui remains committed to its investment promotion work, attracting 134 projects worth over 100 million yuan in the first half of the year, rising by 25.2 percent.
