Lishui, Zhejiang province, nestled amid the mountains, has emerged as a sought-after destination for tourists seeking to escape the summer heat.

The Huangmao Peak in Longquan and Baishanzu National Park in Qingyuan county rank among the coolest areas in Lishui, according to the meteorological bureau of Lishui.

At 1,929 meters above sea level, Huangmao Peak stands as the highest peak in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces. It has seen a notable surge in visits since the end of the plum rain season, with 2,296 visits so far.

Accommodation facilities like the Fengyang Hotel are witnessing high occupancy rates of around 80 percent, as guests are reluctant to leave the refreshing climate.

Pingnan town, located near the mountain, also appeals to tourists with its average annual temperature of 18 C. More than 80 percent of the rooms in Pingtian village have been occupied as well, with bookings already extending into mid-August.

The Qingyuan area within the Baishanzu National Park is also experiencing an influx of visitors. The area's Qingyuan Guanyun Hotel, with 13 rooms mainly catering to long-term stays, has thus far been at full capacity every day in July.

Qingyuan boasts a forest coverage of 86 percent and an average annual temperature of 22 C. From July 1 to 8, Baishanzu town in Qingyuan welcomed 3,526 visits, a 62.41 percent increase year-on-year, including 1,188 overnight visits and 26 percent of visitors from outside the province.
