Zhejiang Best Intenerated Pencil Wood Co in Qingyuan county, Lishui, Zhejiang province, welcomed a delegation from Faber-Castell Group on June 12.
Faber-Castell, a renowned German enterprise established in 1761, is now one of the world's largest pencil manufacturers. Best, founded in 2004, has grown to become China's largest producer of high-quality pencil materials. The partnership symbolizes the union of a centuries-old brand with a rising industry player.
Impressed by Best's advanced technology and quality control, Simon Hauser, CTO of Faber-Castell, commended its digital control equipment and complete management utilized in ensuring product excellence. The two sides reached cooperation intention during the meeting.
Best's recent success stemmed from substantial investments in R&D, resulting in environmentally friendly products that meet global standards. Their products have gained strong market acceptance, evidenced by a large order valued at 100 million yuan ($13.78 million) placed at the beginning of 2023.
At the Canton Fair this year, Best's water-based paint products garnered positive feedback, catching the attention of Faber-Castell. Following discussions, the partnership was formalized for mutual growth.
"We are confident that with the cooperation of Faber-Castell, our products can be sold all over the world and the sales can exceed 500 million yuan within seven years," said Bao Kegui, Best's general manager.
As the largest pencil production base in China, Qingyuan has witnessed its pencil industry evolve to encompass a comprehensive industry chain over the past 40 years. Current production in Qingyuan accounts for 40 percent of the global market share.
