The Lishui Cultural and Historical Research Museum was established on May 30, marking a significant milestone in integrating historical and cultural resources in Lishui, Zhejiang province.
Wang Yongchang, director of the Zhejiang Cultural and Historical Research Museum, hailed the establishment as a pivotal moment for Lishui's cultural development and also a significant event in the development of cultural and historical research for the province.
At the opening ceremony, the Lishui municipal government appointed 15 staff members and seven researchers to position at the museum.
"I will strive to carry out the research and inheritance of Lishui's culture, contributing to the innovative transformation and creative development of Chinese excellent traditional culture," He Weining, director of the museum, said at the ceremony.
Lishui boasts a rich history and abundant cultural heritages, including prehistoric civilizations like the Jinyun Longdong and Suichang Haochuan cultures. It is home to 21 national intangible cultural heritages including Longquan celadon firing techniques and Qingtian stone carving, along with 114 provincial-level heritages.
