Lishui's Songyang county hit a significant milestone with its first cross-border e-commerce order, processed by veteran foreign trade company Zhejiang Muxing Industry and Trade Co Ltd.
Workers of the company are rushing to fulfill a $300,000 outdoor goods order from an American buyer on Alibaba's platform. This landmark order will depart from Ningbo under a unified customs clearance model, marking Songyang's debut in cross-border e-commerce exports.
Xu Ding, general manager of the company, credited the county's economic and commercial bureau for facilitating the partnership with Alibaba, which has led to improved customs efficiency and a surge in overseas orders. The company's output value has seen a near 50-percent increase in the first four months of the year compared to the same period last year.
Despite initial hesitations due to a lack of experience, the company received hands-on guidance from local trade officials and experts, who clarified policies and offered support, encouraging Xu to pursue further growth in the e-commerce market.
Songyang's proactive approach includes implementing policies to support new trade formats and providing financial incentives to boost foreign trade development. With this first order, Songyang's economic and commercial bureau plans to continue supporting the expansion of cross-border e-commerce, aiming to strengthen Songyang's presence in the global market and fuel the county's economic growth.
