At the 2024 International Tea Industry Fair on May 11, a unique tea set from Longquan in Lishui, Zhejiang province garnered attention for its fusion of Longquan celadon and lacquer craftsmanship.
"If we want to make innovations on traditional Longquan celadon, we need to use our imagination," said Wang Sen, a young entrepreneur from Jiangsu province, who excitedly introduced his products to visitors at the fair.
In Longquan, a surge of external entrepreneurs like Wang is revitalizing the industry.
For a long time, Longquan's celadon industry faced challenges due to limited innovation in design and intelligent production methods. To inject new life into the long-standing traditional industry, Longquan has focused on creating a conducive environment for youth entrepreneurship.
The Celadon Industry Park in Longquan is known as the "dream factory" by celadon entrepreneurs. A variety of studios showcase a diverse range of creative products, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern designs.
Entrepreneurs are infusing technology and fashion into celadons, making them more accessible and appealing to a wider audience.
They are not only transforming the external appearance of celadon but also revolutionizing production techniques. By integrating digital technologies like 3D modeling and numerical control carving, production processes have been streamlined, reducing time and enhancing precision.
Longquan's efforts to support youth entrepreneurship have successfully attracted over 1,500 young entrepreneurs, with a significant portion engaging in celadon and related industries.
