Stone carvings from Qingtian county, Lishui, Zhejiang province stole the spotlight at the 4th China Arts & Crafts Expo, which opened in Fuzhou, Fujian province on May 9.
Qingtian county enjoys the reputation as the "hometown of stone carving in China" with its stone carving praised as the world's top.
The expo featured six areas with 60 booths showcasing over 300 works from Qingtian, which were crafted with precision by many Chinese artists.
Visitors were captivated by the stone carvings depicting landscapes, flowers, and figures, which perfectly showcased the realism and detail that Qingtian stone carving is known for.
"Qingtian stone carving is different from our Shoushan stone carving. It is more detail-oriented and grander in appearance," said Yang Zengwen, a Shoushan stone carving expert from Fujian.
The expo provided attendees an opportunity to appreciate traditional crafts as well as the exquisite craftsmanship behind the works, elevating the national influence of Qingtian stone carving. It will run until May 12.
