Lishui's GDP hits 196.44b yuan in 2023: Govt report
Lishui in Zhejiang province has achieved a GDP of over 196.44 billion yuan ($27.29 billion) in 2023, up by 7.5 percent, ranking third in the province and realizing its major expected goals for economic and social development, as revealed in the Government Work Report of Lishui.
The value added of industries above designated size has grown by 7.9 percent, ranking fourth in the province. The same indicator for the service industry has increased by 8.4 percent, maintaining Lishui's position as the top performer in the province for two consecutive years.
The economic recovery trend has become more stable in the city. Six industrial clusters with an output value exceeding 10 billion yuan and four with an output value exceeding five billion yuan have been established. A total of 52 projects with an investment of over one billion yuan were introduced in 2023, surpassing the total of the previous three years combined.
The intrinsic driving forces behind Lishui's development have become increasingly robust. Namely, three companies have been newly listed, and the number of market entities has exceeded 350,000, reaching a historical high.
Lishui has also achieved more fruitful results in reforms of key areas. In total, 180 measures have been issued to promote the high-quality development of the private economy, and 4.82 billion yuan of policy funds have been allocated, reducing the burden on enterprises by 8.5 billion yuan.
The city's development has become more competitively comprehensive. The import and export volume has increased by 16.2 percent, ranking second in the province, while the actual utilization of foreign capital has risen by 15.9 percent, ranking third.
