Lishui attracts over 1m tourists during Spring Festival
During the Spring Festival holiday, Lishui in Zhejiang province witnessed great success in its cultural and tourism market.
From Feb 10 to Feb 17, Lishui saw approximately 1.53 million visits (multi-day visitors are counted as one visit within a 15-day period) with a year-on-year increase of 26.83 percent, ranking sixth in Zhejiang. Tourism revenue amounted to around 1.64 billion yuan ($227.89 million), with an average tourist expenditure of 1,071 yuan.
The city received around 1.08 million overnight tourists, accounting for 70.58 percent of total tourists. The number grew by 27.78 percent year-on-year, ranking third in the province. The average length of stay was 4.6 days, placing the city among the top three in the province.
The 4A-rated and above scenic spots in Lishui received a combined total of 992,400 visits, reflecting a growth of 22.97 percent over last year.
Watching village Spring Festival galas, visiting New Year goods fairs, and enjoying dragon lantern dances have become the mainstream ways of celebrating the Spring Festival in Lishui. The city hosted over 1,000 village Spring Festival galas and over 100 dragon lantern dances. All the cultural and tourism activities (including online) have featured a total of over 1.17 million participants.
The relaxing and liberating experience of a "mountainous" lifestyle remains the mainstream for the Spring Festival holiday in Lishui. During the holiday, 156 homestays were in operation, hosting 26,500 individual tourist visits.
