Various books on electrical engineering, piles of electric appliances, and an array of tools for repairing household appliances fill the small workshop of Ji Biren, Party secretary of Taihu village in Longquan, Lishui, Zhejiang province.
This 56-year-old village secretary is not only a leader in the villagers' path to prosperity, but also a well-known "repairman".
When he was young, Ji was interested in electronics and electrical appliances, and he learned the skills necessary for repairing electrical equipment by himself.
Ji has always been ready to help whenever villagers encounter problems like appliance damage or short circuits. Gradually, as his skills have improved, more and more people have come to him for help. After finishing each repair, Ji delivers the appliances to the villagers in person and ensures everything is in working order before leaving.
In recent years, serving the elderly has also become an important part of Ji's work. As soon as any elderly resident calls him, Ji will immediately go to help, whether the job requires changing fuses, replacing aging lines, or adjusting TV signals.
Ji has been providing free services for villagers for more than 30 years. He said that he has only done a trivial thing with his knowledge and skills, and he will continue as long as it is beneficial to the villagers.
