The city has invested 30 million yuan ($4.2 million) in the construction of demonstration projects for biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. Through the construction of artificial habitats, ecological corridors, food supplements, breeding and release, it aims to protect and restore 100 hectares of habitat for giant salamanders and aquatic organisms, 300 hectares of habitat for mammals, and 50 hectares of habitat for Chinese honeybees.
Lishui, known as the "biological kingdom of East China," has the highest level of biodiversity in the province. This has promoted the strong development of industries such as honey bee farming, freshwater fish breeding, and edible fungi cultivation. Meanwhile, Lishui has taken a comprehensive approach to plan the development path of biodiversity conservation and sustainable utilization, taking the lead in proposing the construction of biodiversity experience venues in the country.
It has achieved a virtuous cycle of promoting the development of biodiversity and ecological industries.
