Lishui, along with 15 other Chinese regions, has been chosen as a flagship member of "China's Longevity Townships".
The city strategically focuses on traditional Chinese medicine healthcare, healthy living, elderly care, and recreational activities for its burgeoning health industry.
With the forest coverage of 81.7 percent, Lishui leverages its ecological advantages for forest-based health initiatives. Leading the nation, it implements a Forest Health Action Plan, positioning itself as East China's core for forest health and a national benchmark.
Lishui, renowned as a "natural medicine garden," hosts 85 percent of the province's Chinese herbal medicines.
Expanding in traditional Chinese medicine health, the city integrates this culture into tourism, offering health journeys blending leisure with traditional Chinese medicine wellness. Lishui aims to be the go-to destination for traditional Chinese medicine health in the Yangtze River Delta region.
By integrating medical services with elderly care, Lishui addresses national aging challenges and has been a model city for three consecutive years in national health city construction.
Targeting 2025, it aspires to establish a comprehensive response system for the aging population, targeting an average life expectancy of 81.8 years per person. Lishui stands as a forward-thinking leader, exemplifying China's evolving health landscape.
