The construction of the runway at Lishui Airport has officially begun on Dec 12.
Lishui Airport, designated as a domestic feeder airport, boasts a flight area classification of 4C. The runway measures 2,800 meters in length and 45 meters in width, with 1.5-meter wide shoulders on either side.
At the southwest and northeast ends of the runway, anti-skid pads measuring 60 meters×48 meters have been installed. Additionally, four Class C aircraft turning pads are strategically placed at both ends of the runway and 600-meter west and 400-meter east from the western and eastern ends, respectively.
Due to the substantial fill depth and inadequate natural rainfall during the fill construction, the settlement convergence has yet to meet the design standards.
To expedite the stabilization of settlement, seizing the effective construction period, Lishui Airport Command innovatively implemented artificial simulated rainfall measures in September of this year. This method aids in moistening the fill material, significantly accelerating the rate of runway settlement, yielding noticeable results.
Currently, Lishui Airport is in the full-speed construction phase, with 22 individual structures in the terminal area achieving structural completion. Various functional zones within the terminal building are taking shape, with an overall progress exceeding 85%. The control tower and central substation are poised to complete their decoration, finishing, and electromechanical installation by the end of the year.
Upon completion, Lishui Airport will control a range of 2,000 kilometers, accommodating mainstream aircraft such as the Airbus A320 series, Boeing B737 series, and China's own C919.
The airport plans to open routes connecting Lishui to major cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu, Kunming, Haikou, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Xi'an, Changsha, Qingdao, Dalian, Harbin, and Guiyang.
