Inspired by traditional porcelain craftsmanship and gold lacquer, an intangible cultural heritage skill, Liu created a horse-face skirt with blue and gold patterns. She also designed a matching fan, hairpin, gown, and camisole, all of which feature water motifs.

Liu, who was born in the 2000s, developed a passion for hanfu, traditional Chinese clothing, when she was in college. She taught herself how to design and make hanfu, drawing inspiration from the nature and culture of her hometown.

Liu has designed more than 400 sets of hanfu since 2019 and currently runs her own design studio Chenyuebi. Her works have received rave reviews from customers and netizens alike.

Last year, Liu fulfilled her grandmother's dream of wearing a wedding dress by dressing her up in a hanfu that she designed. The video of the makeover went viral on Douyin, a popular short video platform in China, garnering millions of views and likes.

Liu said she hopes to promote and protect traditional Chinese culture through her designs. "Wearing hanfu on the street is one of the best ways to showcase our traditional culture. I hope more people can understand and appreciate our traditional clothing," she said.
