Longquan, a county-level city of Lishui in East China's Zhejiang province, will host the 6th World Celadon Conference from Oct 30 to 31, local officials announced on Oct 19.

The event aims to showcase the beauty and influence of Longquan celadon, a type of porcelain with a unique jade-green glaze that dates back to the Southern Dynasty (420-589).

The conference will include an opening ceremony, a keynote forum, and 17 other activities related to Longquan celadon culture and industry.

Longquan celadon has been traded around the world for centuries and was a major commodity of the Maritime Silk Road during the Song and Yuan dynasties (960-1368), when it was traded in more than 50 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe.

Longquan has in recent years been promoting its celadon products to the world and enhancing its international reputation.
