Lishui's Jinyun Muya Duck tops Zhejiang's livestock brands

The 2022 China Geographical Indication Agricultural Product Brand Reputation Evaluation Report was released recently – revealing the top 100 brands of China's geographical indication agricultural products (livestock) in 2022.
Of these, five brands from Zhejiang province in East China made the list, with the Jinyun Muya Duck from Lishui city ranking 11th nationwide and first in the province with a score of 85.39.
The report was jointly produced by several research institutions, including the Center for Agricultural and Rural Development of Zhejiang University and the Zhejiang Sustainable Academy of "Three Rural" Brand.
They collected and analyzed huge amounts of data from various online platforms – covering 1,568 geographical indication agricultural product brands that have obtained protection from two or more departments of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the China National Intellectual Property Administration, or CNIPA.
The Jinyun Muya Duck is a local specialty of Jinyun county in Lishui. It has been approved as a protected variety of agricultural product geographical indication and a national-level livestock and poultry genetic resource by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
It has been approved as a geographical indication certification trademark by the CNIPA and rated as a national famous, special, excellent and new agricultural product.
At present, the region has an estimated stock of 300,000 ducks and the annual total output value of the industry supply chain is 2.18 billion yuan ($298.74 million).
