Faces of the Games| Lishui athletes shine at Hangzhou Asian Games with 10 medals

The 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou city concluded on Oct 8, with a dazzling closing ceremony at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium in East China's Zhejiang province.
Lishui, a city in Zhejiang, achieved its best performance at the continental sports event, with its athletes winning five gold medals, four silvers and one bronze.
Lishui sent six athletes to compete in six sports at the Asian Games, the largest number in its history. Four of them were water sports athletes, who won five golds, two silvers and one bronze medal in rowing, swimming, canoeing and sailing.
Dong Xiya, from the Liandu district of Lishui, clinched the first gold medal for Lishui at the Asian Games in the women's eight rowing in the coxswain competition. She also became the first rower from Lishui to win an Asian Games gold medal.
Liu Yaxin, from the county-level city Longquan – administered by Lishui – was the most decorated athlete from Lishui at the Games. She bagged two gold medals in the women's 4×100 meters freestyle relay and the women's 4×200 meters freestyle relay swimming competitions – as well as a silver medal in the women's 200 meters backstroke event and a bronze medal in the 200 meters freestyle competition.
Wang Nan, from Qingyuan county in Lishui, also won two gold medals in the women's 500 meters double kayak and 500 meters four kayak canoeing competitions. She was the first canoeist from Lishui to win an Asian Games gold medal.
Wang Jingsa, from Jingning She autonomous county – under the jurisdiction of Lishui – won a silver medal in the women's mixed double boat-470 class sailing competition.
Ke Jie, from Liandu district, won two silver medals in the men's team and individual Go competitions. He was the only non-water sports athlete from Lishui to win medals at the Asian Games.
Yu Junyan, from Liandu district, finished eighth in the men's freestyle roller skating speed slalom competition.
Lishui is a city famous and prosperous for its water resources. It has actively developed various water sports projects based on its rich water resources and close proximity to water.
It has also built a water sports belt along the Oujiang River, aiming to create a "water sports event city" with first-class facilities and rich formats.
