The mascots of the Games, which represent Hangzhou's three UNESCO World Heritage sites – the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City, West Lake and the Grand Canal – have been made into adorable mini figurines using Longquan celadon's three major colors: beige glaze, plum green and pink green.

The Longquan celadon doll version of the mascots was designed by Zhou Chunli, who said she wanted to create appealing figurines with Chinese characteristics that combine tradition and modernity.

The Longquan celadon souvenirs have attracted many foreign athletes, including Uzbekistan gymnastics legend Oksana Chusovitina.

Longquan celadon porcelain originated in the Three Kingdoms (220-280) and Jin Dynasty (265-420) and flourished in the Song (960-1279) and Yuan (1271-1368) dynasties. It is also the first ceramic project selected by UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
