The aroma of Jinyun shaobing, a traditional snack from Jinyun county – in Lishui city, in East China's Zhejiang province – is quite popular in the Asian Games Village in Hangzhou, capital of the region.
"We sell about 900 shaobing a day now and we expect to sell about 1,200 a day after the official start of the Asian Games," said Zhou Kai, one of the 13 Jinyun shaobing masters who came to Hangzhou to ply their trade.
Jinyun shaobing is a specialty of the Zhejiang cuisine and have a history of more than 650 years. They are made of wheat flour, sesame seeds, scallions and lard and are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
"I am proud to be able to show the charm of our Jinyun shaobing in the Asian Games Village and to let friends from all over Asia taste the deliciousness of Jinyun," Zhou Kai said.
