The municipal government of Longquan – a county-level city administered by Lishui in East China's Zhejiang province – and car manufacturer Geely Auto signed a strategic agreement on Aug 8 to jointly develop new energy vehicle projects.
The agreement covers three projects: a new energy vehicle thermal management project, a power exchange project and an automotive science and technology industry investment fund.
Geely Auto's parent company Zhejiang Geely Holding Group is one of the world's top 500 manufacturing enterprises. With strong basic research capabilities and market competitiveness, its Geely Automobile Group is a leading global manufacturer mainly engaged in the design, R&D, sales and service of autos, powertrain assemblies and key components.
Geely Auto CEO Gan Jiayue said the group would work with Lishui and Longquan departments at all levels to help them form a highland for the automotive new energy parts industry.
Gan added that both parties would work together to promote the transformation, upgrading and cluster development of Longquan's thermal management industry – and further promote the implementation of the national peak carbon and carbon neutrality strategy through the cooperation.
