Yunhe county in Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province, has become a popular destination for tourists seeking to escape the summer heat, having received 229,600 visitors in July, an increase of 6.7 percent year-on-year.
The county has launched various summer vacation tours, including recreation, study and team-building activities, to stimulate the tourism market.
Jinshuitan township, one of the county's hot spots, boasts abundant water resources, making it an ideal place to escape the heat.
This year, the town has offered some travel routes that feature attractions such as Xiangong Scenic Spot, Yunlong Road, and Jinshuikeng European-style Town. The Xiangong Scenic Spot alone generated 200,000 yuan ($27,806) in revenue in July.
Another attraction is Yunhe Terraced Fields Scenic Spot, which received 31,606 tourists in July. Kenggen village, adjacent to the scenic spot, has also lured many visitors with its lower temperatures and rural charm.
The booming tourism sector has also boosted the business of accommodation providers. "We are fully booked everyday recently," said Xu Yujun, the owner of a homestay in Shitang town. Xu said that more than 300 rooms have been booked since July.
In addition to experiencing the fun of farming and water sports, tourists can also enjoy cultural programs in the county's cultural halls.
