The 2023 Zhejiang (Jinyun) Woodball Invitational Tournament recently concluded in the Xiandu Scenic Area – located in Jinyun county, administered by Lishui city, in East China's Zhejiang province.

Woodball is a sport played with a wooden mallet and wooden balls that has a lot of similarities to putting in golf.

The tournament – featuring team, individual and doubles competitions – attracted more than 400 woodball players across the province.

The Jinyun team performed well in the tournament, winning several medals in different categories.

The tournament not only provided a great opportunity to promote the sport of woodball but also celebrated the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games. It also aimed to promote fitness for everybody and to integrate sports with tourism.

The participants praised the beautiful scenery and excellent competition in Jinyun. They said they wanted to visit it again in the future.

Moving forwards, plans are for Jinyun to develop woodball and other outdoor sports as part of its "sports + tourism" strategy, which aims to boost the high-quality development of its culture, tourism and sports sectors.
