Lishui's GDP grows in H1

Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province had a gross domestic product (GDP) of 90.03 billion yuan ($12.61 billion) in the first half of 2023, an increase of 7.6 percent year-on-year, according to local authorities.

Lishui's GDP growth rate was 2.1 percentage higher than the national level. Its two-year average GDP growth rate was 5.2 percent.

Lishui's fixed-asset investment and retail sales of consumer goods increased by 11 percent and 9 percent year-on-year respectively in the first six months.

The city also saw robust growth in its general public budget revenue, which rose 18.4 percent year-on-year. The per capita disposable income of rural residents increased by 8.2 percent, while that of low-income rural households surged 15.2 percent, both ranking first in Zhejiang.

During the same period, Lishui's primary industry grew by 5.2 percent, the secondary industry by 4.6 percent, and the tertiary industry by 9.8 percent year-on-year, making it the top performer in the province in terms of tertiary industry growth.

Other indicators also showed positive growth. The city's industrial electricity consumption grew by 2.8 percent year-on-year, while its offline UnionPay consumption jumped by 25.8 percent. The balance of deposits and loans in Lishui reached 973.1 billion yuan at the end of June, up 18 percent from the beginning of the year.
