Zhejiang's revolutionary spirit shines at Lishui city forum

A forum on southwest Zhejiang's revolutionary spirit and the vitalization and development of old revolutionary areas was held on June 19 in Lishui city – located in East China's Zhejiang province.
Among those participating were experts, academics, officials and descendants of revolutionary pioneers.
The forum invited folks to discuss how to leverage the unique materials and spiritual resources of the old revolutionary area, as well as how to pass on and promote the revolutionary spirit.
The forum also saw Lishui join the National Red Cultural and Creative Alliance, a platform for fostering Red culture and innovation among cities with rich revolutionary heritage. The Southwest Zhejiang Revolutionary Base Memorial Hall, located in Lishui, became a member of the alliance as well.

Moreover, the forum unveiled a travel route for beautiful villages in the old revolutionary area, demonstrating how Lishui's 100-plus revolutionary villages have achieved collective development.
Lishui is one of 12 key old revolutionary areas in China. It boasts 533 existing revolutionary sites and 136 towns in the area, both topping Zhejiang. In recent years, Lishui has vigorously upheld and practiced the southwest Zhejiang revolutionary spirit, which embodies the values of loyalty, sacrifice, perseverance and innovation.
Lishui has also taken the lead in various initiatives in preserving and utilizing Red resources. At present, 76 key projects for realizing the value of Red resources have been rolled out, at a total cost of 37.3 billion yuan ($5.2 billion).
