Nice Group – based in Lishui city in East China's Zhejiang province – is a domestic cleaning product manufacturer that has prioritized the development of eco-friendly products.

At the start of the year, the group signed a 5-billion-yuan ($731.27 million) agreement with Lishui's Liandu district to build a new ecological resource research and industrialization base there.

"Lishui is rich in plants resources, which have unique medicinal and edible values," said Hu Zhengyu, head of Nice's ecological development department.

Taking its cue from Lishui's environment, the group's R&D team has studied local plants and applied them to the company's products.

Covering a site of 37.33 hectares, the new complex will be an industrial cluster integrating ecological resource research, as well as plants cultivation, research and development, extraction and applications.

Its annual output value is expected to be over 5 billion yuan on completion. By then, more than 2,000 new jobs will be created.
