Filed Identification Handbook of Common Butterflies in East China compiled by Li Zejian and the biodiversity conservation and resource innovation research team in Lishui city in East China was published in May.

This book focuses on the butterfly species in Lishui's Baishanzu National Park and takes into account the common butterfly species in other areas in East China. Of the 204 butterfly species in the book, nearly 150 species can be found in Baishanzu National Park.

"The survival of butterflies is closely related to the local environment. If the ecological environment is good and the plant species is abundant, the species and number of butterflies will be quite abundant," said Li Zejian.

The ecological environment in Baishanzu National Park provides a very good habitat for the reproduction of various butterflies, Li added.

The butterfly species in Baishanzu National Park are not only rich in variety and quantity, but also include many endangered species, such as the extremely rare Teinopalpus Aureus.

Nearly 300 butterfly species have been recorded in Baishanzu National Park during field surveys in recent years, said Li.

"There are an estimated 400 butterfly species in Baishanzu National Park."
